“Ne jucam pe covor cînd s-a oprit transmisia la televizor. Atunci mătuşi-mea m-a trimis pe jos acasă. Cînd am ajuns, ai mei se îmbrăţişau în faţa televizorului.”

În decembrie am ieşit în piaţă şi am deschis Cutia cu ’89. Aici am colectat amintiri, am înregistrat poveşti şi am încercat să construim o machetă de lucru la scara acelor zile, desfăşurate în spaţiul acelor pieţe care se găsesc în aceleaşi oraşe în care trăim şi acum.

Trecătorii care au întâlnit Cutia cu ’89 au împărtășit memorii despre Revoluție sau impresii despre schimbările survenite în orașul lor. Artiștii au arhivat aceste întâlniri în cadrul proiectului, iar urmele acestor întâlniri pot fi găsite pe această pagină.

“We were playing on the rug when the TV broadcast stopped. Then my aunt sent me to walk home. When I got home, my parents were embracing in front of the TV.”

In December we went out in the square and opened up The ’89 Box. We collected memories, recorded stories and tried to build a model of what happened over those days in 1989 in the very squares that are still in the cities where we live today.

The passers-by that encountered The ’89 Box shared memories about the Revolution and their thoughts about the changes occurring in the city after 1989. These conversations were be recorded on postcards and archived by the artists, which can be found here on this page.
